We currently have over 46,000 Ohio Valley Business Records, and over 111,000 Residential Listings, easily searchable, with over 850 Business Categories simply a click away.  Our 'area' ranges from East Liverpool OH, Beaver PA, and Chester WV to the North, and Marietta OH and Parkersburg WV to the South. covering a stretch of over 40 miles wide and 120 miles long - over 4,800 square miles of businesses.

How We Promote Your Business

We are very business-friendly. We open all the resources of this web site to our advertisers. If you look at the front page of this web site you will see "Features" about various Businesses, Recreational Areas, etc. listed there. WE WANT YOUR BUSINESS INFO LISTED THERE, TOO!

As the gateway into our site, our home page is highly visible. And once you add a 'Feature' article about your business it becomes a permanent part of our site. You are also free to update the content of your feature, or add a new 'Feature' if you think your business can benefit from it.

The 'Feature' article can link to your web site, offer downloads, show video, etc.  

We do offer the public the chance to comment about your business. But like we stated above, we are business-friendly so we do not post negative feed-back. We do, however, send you all the comments we receive if the sender has properly identified themselves.

Advertising Options and Pricing

1. Web Site Sponsor New Offer- We have 10 advertising 'units' located at the top of every page on our web site. Each 'unit' rotates so that a single 'unit,' or ad, will be displayed 10% of the time. If 3 'units' are purchased, your ad will be displayed 30% of the time. Based on our current user average of 47,500 visitors per month, your ad will be displayed 4,750 times for each unit purchased. You will be acknowledged as a Sponsor of OVYellow.com. This type of ad is ideal for Auto Dealers, Realtors, Night Clubs, or any business that wants to get their name out to a wide audience. The ad will link to your web site. You can provide the ad, or we can develop one for you. Price: $150 per unit per year
2. City Sponsor - As a city sponsor, your ad will be displayed in the right column of every page for the city you choose. (Click here for a live example) . The exposure your ad received is dictated by the number of visitors a particular City Yellow Page Section receives. Larger cities always out-perform smaller cities on our site. Price: $295.00 per year
3. Section Sponsor - From time to time we add new sections to our site. For example, in an effort to prepare for the Fall, we are setting up a Ohio Valley Night Life section. Already this area is getting a lot of visitors. Google ranks this page #1 out of 385,000 pages (See Ranking) , and this is where most of the traffic to this section comes from. If you would like to suggest a section, and are willing to sponsor it, your ad will remain at the top of that section for 1-Year for just $150 per year.
4. Gold Ads - Gold Ads are displayed at the top of any search results that relate to your business. (See Live Example) When we develop your ad we include all the products and services you offer, so your ad may be displayed on dozens of categoy pages. If someone is looking for what you have to offer we make sure they find you. These are highly targeted ads.  We have our web site traffic audited twice a year by a third-party, and our recent audit report can be downloaded here: Market Reach   Price: $240 per year
5. Silver Ads - Silver Ads work the same as Gold Ads, except they show up below any Gold Ads, if they are available. Price: $120 per Year
6. Enhanced Listing - We have listed over 46,000 businesses on our site. These are free listings. Each one of these businesses has their own web page on our web site. Your business is likely to be listed. (See Example) These listings provide a basic amount of information, and includes a map. If you want to enhance this listing to include a few paragraphs about your business, a link to your web site, etc. there is a one-time $25 fee. This will not move your listing up to the top of the page.
7. Residential Listings Sponsor - Our 'people search' area of our site has been increasing in traffic over the past few months, receiving over 300 to 400 users per day. This area was not included in our web site traffic audit this year, and its traffic is not included in the traffic we get for our "Yellow Page" area. We are looking for one sponsor for this section. This sponsorship will be for 16 months at a cost of $240.

Expansion Opportunities

We have expanded our site to include the Pittsburgh Area, the U.S. Yellow Pages, and the Canadian Yellow Pages. There are no third-party audits on these sections yet, so we are offering sponsorships to these sites for just $40 per unit. See #1 above on how this works.

We can place your menu online, your calendar of events, an unlimited number of coupons (See Note below), your commercial, or anything that you think will help draw in customers. We truly believe that when you are one of our advertisers, OVYellow.com is opened up to promote you in any way it can.

We are asked, on occasion, if we allow coupons to be posted by our advertisers. The short answer is 'Yes', but coupons are not the solution we offer.

The long answer is that coupon-based sites do not perform well. Simply look at Google, Yahoo, and MSN. These three companies have gathered enough data to know what works and what doesn't on the Internet. They do not offer coupons as a form of advertisement.

And our own experience, based on over 17 years in the Internet business, shows the same poor results. A Coupon's main function is to see how well an advertising medium performs. But that comes with a double price tag. First you have to pay to put your coupon online, then you have to honor the coupon's value. Recently we have talked to Valley Businesses who have invested $600 to $900 and more per year to have a coupon(s) on local coupon sites. Everyone we talked to said it didn't work out.

And to finish the long answer, another reason it doesn't work is because these sites only list advertisers. That would be like Google only listing advertisers for any search you perform. People use Google to get accurate information. Google places related advertisements on the search results pages, but there are also thousands to millions of web pages listed with related content.

People use OVYellow.com 1,400 to 1,600 times a day (and climbing) to find businesses in the Ohio Valley. Not every category has an advertiser, but every category has a list of businesses that fit that category.
